Pr agency: Modus

On the 6th of February London College of Style took us to the Pr agency Modus. Thanos Kotsanitis, the showroom manager gave us a tour in the showroom of the agency. The first thing that came to mind when I looked around was that the showroom looked like a beautiful displayed store. All the brands that Modus represents are nicely showed for visitors, such as journalists, stylists, fashion designers,…  I immediately recognized the dresses of David Koma because I used the catwalk pictures of his spring/summer collection for my blog on the trends of 2013.

Thanos Kotsanitis explained how a Pr agency works with stylists. Fashion stylists can ask Modus to borrow clothes from a fashion designer they represent. The stylist will have to explain the brief because Modus will always think of their clients first. Making sure that the client will like every decision they make. Modus will want to know why the stylist wants to work with the designer and how will it appear in magazines or on television. But it wouldn't be a business if it wasn't a two way street. Pr agencies, like Modus, needs stylists to advertise their brands through editorial photoshoots or by styling a celebrity for events. Once you have established a name for yourself as fashion stylist in the business, a lot of agencies will be willing to work with you. Though you have to make sure you keep up your good name. Always be honest and tell the true raison for loaning the clothes, take care of the garment like its your own and always bring the borrowed pieces back ON TIME. This will make sure that pr agencies and people in the fashion business will like to work with you.

Everyone knows it is not easy to start as a stylist. That is why everyone at Modus gave us one piece of advice. Push through and don't give up. One day your hard work will pay off. Work hard and never say no. That's the key to success in this business. Cause after all, fashion is and always will be a hard competitive business where only the most passionate and hard working people will survive.

Can't wait to start!! ;-)

That must have been so cool! Oh I'm in love with the colors from the dresses, vests, shorts... ! Do you have to pay to borrow those clothes?

Hi J.

As a stylist you don't have to pay for the clothes. Off course if something happens to the garment you will be hold responsible. So it is really important to take care of the clothes that the pr agencies lend you.

The colours were gorgeous. I liked the colour of Akris bag the most. Bright neon pink, really in this summer season!!
