Hi,
This year was my first time at London fashion week for the autumn/winter collection of 2013 and I'm already looking forward to spring/summer collection of 2014.
London Fashion Week is situated at Somerset House. Somerset is the perfect setting for Fashion week. The courtyard is surrounded by beautiful architecture and there is enough space to walk around the main catwalk. And how lucky the fashion lovers were with the weather. We were blessed with a beautiful clear bleu sky and even some sunshine. Although it was cold the real fashionistas didn't care and put on their best outfits to show at Somerset House. I was amazed by some of the fabulous and crazy outfits I saw. I could almost compare it with Carnaval in my home city Aalst, Belgium.

Thanks to London College of Style I was able to attend a lot of fashion shows on Friday and Saterday. Sadly enough London Fashion Week turned into a 2-day trip for me. My fashion friday started with Bora Aksu at 11am in Somerset House.
The collection of Bora Aksu started with nice and soft colours. Beiges, greys soft purples growing into strong dark purples, fuchsias and blacks towards the end of the show. All the colours connected nicely with each other. Each model was wearing a nicely shaped headpiece that finished of the look. I really liked his tailored feminine look with the high shoulders and the tailored suits with the corsets. It was strong and feminine at the same time. Which for me is a perfect combination.

At 1pm I saw the fashion show of KTZ. From a soft, feminine styling at Bora Aksu to a more big, street, baggy styling at KTZ. KTZ had a range of different outfits in their collection. The bold street style combined them all. Black and whites, prints, bright colours, big hats, shiny leather, gold and silver fabrics. It was all there. The looks were really big and bold with a lot of attitude. I loved the oversized baseball caps and the leather pants looked amazing.

At 2pm I went to see Felder Felder. I must say, this was the show I really wanted to see. And I was right. Felder Felder was definitely one of my favorite shows. I just loved every outfit. The outfits were beautifully tailored, with a rich colour pallet!! It was feminine and strong. A woman with a mission. I loved the red leather trousers with the coat and the black dress with the v-neck. But off course the final dubbel look was the best of all. When I saw the 2 models, who were wearing a white and grey coat, on the catwalk, I could feel my heart jumping up and down. I don't want the coat, I need it!! :-)

I heard a lot about PPQ but I wasn't familiar with the fashion brand. I could see that a lot of people were anxious to go and see the show. After seeing the fashion show I understood why everyone wanted to see PPQ. It was a beautiful collection of neon colours in combination with rich black fabrics or a multi coloured print. It just popped of the catwalk. Tailored coats, cocktail dresses, casual wear and long evening gowns. It all worked. Every outfit was nicely styled with a black bow in the hair, big hat or neon bag. My favorite outfits were the bleu tailored blazer, the orange maxi dress and the black jumpsuit.

Last but not least on my fashion friday was Nova Chiu. This was really special for me cause it was the first time I sat on the first row. How exciting and glamorous :-)
The collection was really bright and colourful. They used a lot of prints in bright blues, reds, pinks and greens. The shoes were colourful and playful.

An early rise and shine for me on Saterday to make it to Daks at 9am. Off course, my luck, the circle and district lines were out of order and I had to change 3 times of lines… I was looking at my watch every second hoping I wouldn't be too late. Just made it in time!! :p Daks stands for British Heritage and you could see this in their fall/winter 2013 collection. Trench coats, flower prints and softly tailored garments. The colour pallet was in tone with each other. My favourite looks were the black jumpsuit and the black maxi dress.

At 12pm I went to see the collection of Jasper Conran. You could already tell by the beautiful invitation that it would be colourful and exciting but when I took a glimpse of the catwalk my excitement just grew. It was the first fashion designer I saw who changed the catwalk floor. From a dark wooden floor to a neon orange one. At the beginning of the catwalk their stood two orange installations. Jasper Conran used bold colour combinations such as a red dress, orange tights and pink ballerina shoes. Light pinks with bright pinks, oranges with pinks,… The collection had a-line dresses and skirts with matching hats. It was a nice and colourful collection but I did expected a bit more drama in his collection.

At 4.30pm I had a show at a Fashion Scout from Bernard Chandran. He created a beautiful range of pieces in his collection. He used a lot of colours and graphic prints. Maxi dresses and fitted skirts. The fabrics were soft and moved nicely with the model. A lot of the dresses were beautifully made with beads. He hat some cool and quirky looking hat pieces. I really liked his collection. The use of colours and prints.

My last show of London Fashion Week was Ashley Isham. Also one of my favourite collections. Strong, beautiful looks. Leather pants and ready-to-wear dresses styled with fierce headpieces. Stunning maxi dresses and evening gowns. Just when I thought I saw his best dress another model came walking down the catwalk with a more gorgeous gown. He has a feeling for bold and strong garments. He used flower prints and sequins. Whites, navy blues, greens and red colours. I would love to see him in September for Spring and Summer collections 2014.

Did you see famous people? And how was it possible to sit on the front row??:O
J.
Hi J.
Hahaha, Hopefully one day I will be able to buy a coat like that for myself. :)
I saw Sophie Bexter. She looked amazing. And some people from Made in Chelsea (British tvshow).
I guess I was just lucky sitting on front row. :)
