Magical Romance

Hi,

Today I had my first editorial fashion photoshoot at London College of Style. The brief was magical romance. We had to create a magical quality that will shine through our look. I chose for the "Swan Lake" theme. The white, light, feminine swan against the hard, dark, black swan.
Moodboard: Magical Romance - Swan Lake

After getting feedback from Wendy Elsmore, Dan Blake and Shioban Graham I decided to mix the look of feminine and dark swan. I choose a white strapless sweetheart body from Motel Rocks and a prima ballerina skirt form Escapade, together with my black leather jacket, they made my mean items for my look. To make the leather jacket a bit more edgier and trendy I made flowers out of zippers and I attached black ostrich feathers on the inside of the jacket.

My teachers suggested us to get some examples for hair and make-up. I wanted to keep it simple and feminine. So I choose a clean and fresh look. I used a zipper in the hair braid.

Here are some pictures behind the scene. I'm really looking forward to the actual pictures taken by the amazing photographer Yann Faucher.
What do you think?

Well done Nathalie! I love the flower on the jacket. What a great idea to make it out of a zipper. I would definitely wear a cool, trendy jacket like that. The combination with the romantic dress is something you won't expect; just wonderful! It suits the model perfectly.

I'm really happy you liked the look!
Btw, the leather jacket is actually mine and I'm thinking of letting the flower stick there for a while ;-p

Hi Steven,

Dankjewel!! :-) Kwas wel heel nerveus toen het aan mij was.
Maar alles is echt heel goed verlopen! Hopelijk zijn de foto's ook goed en kan ik ze in mijn portfolio steken.
